Local Artist: Dr. Jonathan Powell DMD

Before establishing his dental practice and artistic pursuits Jonathan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and served in both the USMC and the Army Reserve.

A practicing dentist of 28 years and a life-long hobbyist, Jonathan Powell D.M.D is a relative newcomer to the world of stained glass art with his own unique style. As with most artists Jonathan found his style being fueled by his interests and hobbies (skulls, dragons, fantasy, science fiction, motorcycles, and clocks). When starting out he had a goal to do glass his own way because everything else was being done classically and he wanted to be different. The first piece he created when starting out in 2018 was a 10”x12” dragon head (can be seen below).
